Finding aid and full-text of letter and typescript (click on "Additional Files" below) for Manuscripts Small Collection 72. Letter written by Jefferson Davis at Beauvoir, Mississippi, to John D. Woods, Frankfort, Kentucky, refuting a report that he once offered to resign as President of the Confederate States of America provided Albert Sidney Johnston was appointed as his successor. Also includes envelope.
