McWhirter from Bowling Green, Kentucky, January and February, 1862, to his sister, Zellora, near Gallatin, Tennessee, relating war activities and personal matters. McWhirter was stationed in Bowling Green with the 24th Regiment of the Tennessee Volunteers. Also, letter 10 April 1952, from Harry Jackson, Cleveland, Ohio, concerning his family relationship with the McWhirters.
