Spencer and William Wilkins, Secretaries of War, regarding Thomas Sidney Jesup’s opinion of Rouses’ Point, New York, as a military post, and his defense of the Seminole Indians’ claims and his concern for their ill-treatment by the U.S. government. Also, an article entitled “Notice of the late Major General Brown, by Major General Jesup, 1828 (?).
