Description
This is the tombstone of Mr. Stephen Bishop. He was the first ever tour guide in Mammoth Cave National Park. He died of unknown causes. An interesting fact about his tombstone is that it was originally designed for a Civil War soldier, but the family could not afford it. It was then bought by James R Mellon for Mr. Bishop, though Mr. Mellon actually had the wrong death date engraved.
