This resolution, signed by WKU President Gary Ransdell on March 19, 2011 at approximately 8:30 a.m., made Western Kentucky University the fourth institution in the United States to be designated as fair trade. The resolution represents a year-long effort, led by WKU's chapter of Americans for Informed Democracy (AID), co-founded by Matt Vaughan and Charlie Harris and Fair Trade WKU, further enhancing the University's visibility as a Leading American University with International Reach.
