Chimes in April

Chimes In April is a novella which changes point of view among its five principle characters to achieve a certain effect.  The effect achieved is one which shows life through different eyes.  The eyes begin to look at things in ways once thought impossible.  Each character grows because of his or her relationship to the other characters.  In the story's climax scene, it becomes difficult for the reader to discern exactly who is speaking, but it it understood that distinction is lost when people are suffering and the ending to suffering is the ultimate realization in the necessity to build distinction amongst ourselves through separation from each other and hope for a possible reconcilliation.

Death is the ultimate separator of people and its threat hangs heavy over the heads of all characters in this novella.  But death is only an ending and each character has a life to be lived before death can truly begin its work.
