Certificate granting eighty acres of bounty land to Dorothy Edwards. It reads: "United States of American Department of the Interior. Office of the Commissioner of Pensions. It is hereby Certified that under the Act of March 3rd, 1855, entitled, 'An Act in addition to certain Acts granting Bounty Land to certain Officers and Soldiers who have been engaged in the Military Service of the United States.' Dorothy Edwards widow of Claibourne Edwards, Private, Captain Howerton's Company, Virginia Militia, War 1812, is entitled to locate Eighty Acres, at any Land Office of the United States, in one body, and in conformity to the legal sub-divisions of the public lands, upon any of the public lands 'subject to sale at either the minimum or lower graduated prices.'
