Book written by Hezekiah Butterworth and published in 1890 by the New York American Tract Society. The full title is The Story of Tunes: For Home Reading, Praise Meetings and Lectures on Sacred Music. It was a companion volume to The Story of Hymns published in 1875. Butterworth was a native of Warren, Rhode Island. He was the editor of Youth's Companion in the 1870's as well as author of the Zig-Zag Journeys, song lyrics, and several volumes of poetry.
