"Study for Sculpture I," lithograph, ed. 9/100.
Note: A native of the Bronx, New York City, Lipton was primarily a sculptor who was interested in Abstract Expressionism. This lithograph was probably made from a study for one of his pieces. The Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington D.C. owns at least thirteen such examples done in oil crayon on paper. Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, also has this same print in its collection.
