Claire Donahue was born in Dallas, Texas on January 12, 1989. Donahue's family eventually moved to Lenoir City, Tennessee where she attended high school. Donahue decided to attend Western Kentucky University in 2007. While at WKU Donahue gained significant skills in swimming that propel her career to new heights. Donehue graduated from WKU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2011. Donehue qualified at the 2012 Olympic Trials and won second place. She earned a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London when her team won the relay final.
