College Heights Herald report on homecoming queen coronation:
Miss Martha Jo Johnson, a senior from Scottsville, was crowned homecoming queen at Western's victorious homecoming celebration, Saturday.
Mr. Hugh Poland of Guthrie, a former football, basketball and baseball star for the Hilltoppers crowned Miss Johnson before a partisan crowd of 6,500.
Miss Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnson, is also a cheerleader, and her day was made complete as Western defeated Morehead 7-0.
Homecoming queen candidates along with Martha Johnson were Misses Carol Christy, Kathleen Cobb, Marilyn Cates, Mary Jo Butler and Janice Russell.
