Jimmy purchased a sky-blue 1954 Fleetwood Cadillac for The Hilltoppers to use on the road. The September 12, 1957 National Hilltoppers Fan Club Newsletter reported that he had "traded it in on a shiny black '57 model. The Hilltoppers are really traveling in style now!"
