Description
Facsimile showing the verdict of the coroner's jury on Governor William Goebel's death. Dated February 5, 1900. The verdict states: "We the jury find the dead body before us to be that of Wm. Goebel Governor of KY who came to his death from a gunshot wound, and from the best information at hand, the said shot was fired by the hands of an assassin concealed in the executive building on the morning of Jan. 30th, 1900, and we find that death resulted from the wound then inflicted Feb. 3rd 1900."
