Namesake:
J.T. Gilbert was a Bowling Green physician who served on the Board of Regents from 1963 to 1971.

History:
Gilbert Hall was the twelfth building to be constructed on campus since 1956. The four story building provides housing for 230 women and an apartment for the dorm director. There was a sandwich shop on the first floor that seated 200. It was originally named Terrace Hall and renamed for Dr. Gilbert in 1969.
