Abstract

Finding aid and scan (Click on "additional files" below) For Manuscripts Small Collection 530. Letter, 5 April 1886, from Joseph Holt to Darwin C. Pavey(?), editor of The Berkshire Eagle, Pittsfield,Massachusetts, stating that he was never a member of Lincoln’s cabinet. Holt, a native of Breckinridge County, Kentucky, was Judge-Advocate General, U.S. Army, and prosecuted the conspirators involved in the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Also, 1972 correspondence related to the identity of The Berkshire Eagle’s editor in 1886.
