Abstract
Report by the Task Force on Internationalizing Western formed by Vice President Barbara Burch. The task force consisted of: Ernie Chen, Rachael Crump, Robert Jefferson, Shiu-Yue Mak, James Martin, Philip Myers, Judy Owen, Wei-Ping Pan, Julia Roberts, Richard Salisbury, Michael Simpson, J.J. Sloan, Melissa Stewart, John Petersen, Donna Cheshire, Kim Diehl and Debra Jordan.
Upon submission the task force stated:
Attached is the final report of the Task Force on Internationalizing Western. The report contains a series of specific steps that the university should take to achieve internationalization goals. We hope that the report can be widely circulated on campus so that a broad base of understanding and support can be developed from faculty, staff, students and administration. We also hope these recommendations will be incorporated into the university's strategic plan and into the funding plans contained in the 1997-98 and subsequent university budgets.
