Description

Kentucky Asylum for the Tuition of the Deaf and Dumb was established in 1823. It was located on the southwest corner of Main and Fourth Streets in Danville. It is now known as the Kentucky School for the Deaf and provides educational opportunities for students in preschool through high school. The school is currently located at 303 S. Second Street in Danville.

This book lists known students of the school from 1860 through 1900 through census records. It also provides some legislation and reports concerning the school and samples of lessons taught.
