Abstract

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Small Collection 2331. Letter written by John Cox Underwood, Chicago, Illinois, as a representative of the United Confederate Veterans, to Bertha Honore Palmer, Chicago, Illinois, asking her to receive Varina Howell Davis and her daughter Winnie during the Columbian Exposition. He asked that they be showed "such courtesies as they would naturally receive in London or Paris or any other large city."
