Herstory is a celebration of women of Kentucky. Specifically those who have pushed the boundaries of their gender and aimed for all that achievement can offer them. Women who have opened the doors for other young women to follow in their footsteps, from the first woman crowned Miss Western in 1967 to Amelia Tucker Moore, the first African-American female to be elected to the Kentucky State Legislature. Each woman listed has created dreams and reached for more. They each serve as inspirations to women of today and tomorrow. They have drawn the blueprints for women in Kentucky to challenge their stereotypes and break stigmas.

The first WKU Herstory event hosted by the Kentucky Museum was held in 2020. This online exhibit, curated by student intern Samantha Temple, encapsulates the women featured at that event and highlights more Kentucky pioneers.
