Abstract

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Small Collection 446. Letter written by Miss Daniels, Hardinsburg, Kentucky, to the mayor of Lakeland, Florida, inquiring as to the local jail’s conditions after becoming concerned about them by reading a book written by a former prisoner. Also, carbon copy of mayor’s reply, inviting Daniels to visit the jail and stating that the jail’s conditions would compare favorably with those in Kentucky.
