Abstract
Alfred Russel Wallace owned a personal copy of the two-volume 1873 English edition of the Life of Alexander von Humboldt, now held by the library of the Linnean Society of London. Each volume is highly annotated, and the nature of these notes, and their several-directioned importance, is here discussed.
