”RICHD. P. ERNST FOR CONGRESS” political stud from Richard P. Ernst’s unsuccessful run for the 6th Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. A native of Covington, Ky., Republican Richard Pretlow Ernst (1858-1934) would later serve as a U. S. Senator from 1921 to 1927. The button is made of celluloid and metal, having a diameter of 0.75 inches.
