Art

Whether you envision yourself building a professional studio practice, pursing a career in graphic communications, teaching art at a primary or secondary school, or exploring a world of art history, we're ready to help you reach your goals.

With programs that vary in length and concentration, the WKU Department of Art supports and challenges students along a variety of life-enriching paths. The BFA degree in studio art or graphics is a comprehensive, focused program for students interested in pursuing a professional creative career. Our range of BA programs in art education, art history, and studio art offer additional possibilities to study art within a liberal arts context, leading to a variety of career paths including teaching, art therapy, museum studies, art conservation, or arts management to name just a few possibilities.

Whatever path you choose, you will be working with energetic art professionals who have gained national and international recognition in their respective fields. Our faculty introduce students to a world of art by hosting visiting professionals, traveling with students to conferences and exhibitions, and leading study-abroad programs around the globe.
