Reviewing the Dream: A 50 Year History of Eastwood Baptist Church
Files
Description
On September 4, 1953, twenty members of Bowling Green’s First Baptist Church met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam B. Todd, Sr., to consider “the establishment of a chapel in the Eastern Section of Bowling Green.” Most of the male attendees were members of Todd’s Victory Sunday School Class at First Baptist, a young, dynamic group of World War II veterans who wanted “to do more” for the Lord. A constituting council convened on November 22, 1943, and Eastwood Baptist Church was started. It grew rapidly enough that within ten years the congregation had gone through four construction projects. Reviewing the Dream examines the church’s history which includes mountain top achievements and some lackluster moments.
