Abstract
Finding aid only for Folklife Archives Project 1106. Paper titled “The Story of Sally’s Rock” in which Wayne Scherr recounts the legend of Sallie Beck, a young girl who, in the early 1900s, would stand on the edge of an overhang near the Barren River and wave to boats as they passed by. Paper is based on information collected by Scherr from Charley Young, a former riverboat captain, and Dr. L. Y. Lancaster, owner of the property on which “Sally’s Rock” is located.
