Abstract
Finding aid only for Folklife Archives Project 1174. Student paper titled “Headless Woman’s Rock” in whichPercy Ray Downs, Jr. examines legends relating to an isolated area of woods located approximately nine miles southwest of Leitchfield in Grayson County, Kentucky. The supernatural tales were collected by Downs from his grandfather and step-grandmother who are deeply familiar with both the surrounding land and the ghostly stories.
