Abstract

Finding aid on for Folklife Archives Project 1184. Student paper titled “Folkhouses in Monroe County, Kentucky” in which Mike Smith describes the various types of homes and outbuildings found throughout the county. Smith examines the detailing, function, and form of chosenstructures and offers insight into the materials used in the construction of the buildings. Information was gathered fromresidents of Monroe County, and the paper includes black and white photographs of each structural unit.
