Abstract

Finding aid only for Folklife Archives Project 651. Materials documenting the 2003 Stringbean Festival, held in Gray Hawk, Jackson County, Kentucky. The festival is hosted by Stringbean Memorial, Inc., a non-profit corporation named in honor of the late David "Stringbean" Akemon (1916-1973), a native of Jackson County and an internationally known musician and performer at the Grand Ole Opry and the televison show, Hee Haw.
