Abstract
A history of library services in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the county seat of Warren County. This article traces the history of the early library movement in Bowling Green and the eventual establishment of a Works Progress Administration library in 1938. After the New Deal program faded, the organization was maintained by private donations and a small city appropriation. This history ends with the city of Bowling Green officially recognizing the library in 1953.
