Abstract

Finding aid and full-text of letter and typescript (click on "Additional Files" below) for Manuscripts Small Collection 72. Letter, 24 April 1886, written by Jefferson Davis at Beauvoir, Mississippi, to John D. Woods, Frankfort, Kentucky, refuting a report that he once offered to resign as President of the Confederate States of America provided Albert Sidney Johnston was appointed as his successor.
