Abstract

Finding aid and scan (Click on "Additional Files" below) for Manuscripts Small Collection 2407. Letter, 15 June 1861, from Joseph Rogers Underwood to Lieutenant Augustus S. Nicholson explaining an inability to pay monies owed. He blames poor economic conditions and the suspension of state court operations for his failure to collect his own debts, including one dependent upon revenue from visitors' fees at Mammoth Cave.
