Abstract

Finding aid and scan (Click on "additional files" below) for Manuscripts Small Collection 419. Letter written by Erasmus Lee Gardenhire, Sr., Burkesville, Kentucky, to Dr. J.D. Hale, Nashville, Tennessee, requesting his aid in securing the restoration of his citizenship forfeited during the Civil War. On the reverse side, Hale addressed a note to the President [Johnson] requesting a pardon for Gardenhire.
