Letter, 24 December 1861, to his brother from James Mohr, encamped with the Union Army near the Green River fifteen miles from Mammoth Cave. He remarks on the rain and cold, the destruction by Confederates of a bridge over the river, a recent skirmish, his visit to a cave, and his expected arrival in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the new year. Includes data on Mohr’s regiment, the Fifth U. S. Artillery, Battery H.
