Abstract

Finding aid and scan (Click on "additional files" below) for Manuscripts Small Collection 690. Letter, 20 September 1792, from Kentucky Governor Isaac Shelby to Major General Charles Scott of Woodford County, Kentucky, forwarding extracts from a letter to Shelby from United States Secretary of War Henry Knox requesting an account of the scouts or spies employed in Kentucky under Scott’s direction. Shelby authorizes their continued employment and advises that copies of state laws relative to the militia are forthcoming for distribution.
