Slave bills of sale, 1831-1854 (5); contract to hire slave, 1848; and receipt for the return of a runaway slave, 1856; of Julian River Phelps (father) and James Melvin Phelps (son), Butler County, Kentucky. Includes a broadside about the upcoming sale of Julian’s Butler County estate, 1856.
