Letter, 20 April 1785, written by John McKinney, Lexington, Kentucky (at that time still a part of Virginia,) to Captain John Brown, Augusta County, Virginia. He relates that he is recovering from a shot in his breastbone inflicted by Indians and discusses his land surveying activities.
