Abstract

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Small Collection 2819. Letter, 8 June 1859, of William Shreve Bailey, Newport, Kentucky, to Delos Dunton, a Carpentersville, Illinois merchant. Bailey, the editor of The Free South, an abolitionist newspaper, thanks Dunton for his subscription, laments his inability to pay debts, and asks Dunton to enlist supporters in his area.
