Abstract

Finding aid and scan (Click on "Additional Files" below) for Manuscripts Small Collection 3148. Letter, 2 September 1881, of D. L. Barnett to his niece Mrs. Mary F. Guest, Morley, Missouri. Writing on letterhead of the John Thixton Distilling Company, Owensboro, Kentucky, Barnett discusses payment of a debt owing to her, mourns poor crop yields and business prospects, and refers to the possibility of his returning home if “the house that I am as[s]igned to is not a going to Run this Season.”
