Abstract

Finding aid and typescript (Click on "Additional Files" below) for Manuscripts Small Collection 1611. Letter dated 10 September 1861 from Union soldier John Boatman, Paducah, Kentucky, to his family in Paris, Illinois describing conditions in Paducah. Envelope imprinted with red and blue patriotic image of clasped hands and the phrase "Our hearts and hands for the Union."
