Abstract

Finding aid and scan (Click on "Additional Files" below) for Manuscripts Small Collection 3195. Letter, 25 April 1866, of “Ben” to “My Darling,” written on letterhead of the American Barrel Machine Company, New York, New York. He reports on receipt of information that “opens up the prospect of my soon becoming a millionaire,” namely the conversion of his claim as mortgage creditor of an estate with valuable landholdings in Virginia and Kentucky into a purchaser’s interest. He then hopes to “sell an interest . . . so that we can live together.”
