Abstract

Finding aid only for Manuscripts Small Collection 3678. Two letters of Lida Calvert Obenchain (pen name “Eliza Calvert Hall”) Dallas, Texas, to “Max” and “Frances.” The first, dated 13 April 1932, thanks Max for a gift of lead pencils; the second, dated 19 July 1933, mentions the couple’s young son Kearney, gives family news, and mourns the effects of the Depression on the likelihood of publishing three books she has completed. She also recommends the reading of biography over fiction and lists her own recent reading.
