Sewing room at the Bowling Green Welfare Home on Adams Street. The Bowling Green Welfare Home was organized in the 1920s after three children died from exposure and malnutrition in a tent on Woodford Street. Among other services, the Welfare Home provided the needy with hot meals, medical care and clothing.
