Dr. Karen Adams became the first female appointed to the position of Dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Western Kentucky University in 1999. Before obtaining this position at WKU, Dr. Adams was first the Dean of the College of Education at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville from 1994-1999. Dr. Adams was a teacher before she pursued her career in higher education. Dr. Adams education consists of a B.A. from the University of Texas. She also acquired a master’s of education and arts degree from the University of Virginia. To top off her incredible feets in education, Dr. Adams has also earned her doctor of education degree from the University of South Carolina.
