Abstract

This article describes the journey of a small dog as she is trained to be a therapy dog. Requirements for training and regulations to be a therapy dog are discussed. After training, the dog describes her therapy skills in a variety of settings that enriches the lives of patients and families in hospice settings and rehabilitation. Research on animal assisted therapy is included.
