Five piece wooden flute made in France and used in Warren County, Kentucky. It has a conical bore and is probably French in origin. It has five keys and one trill key. All of the keys have French pointed arms. The second joint is wrapped with black thread, whereas the third and fourth joins are wrapped with red thread. The flute originally owned and played by James Davis Hines, 1838-1911.
