Story From Grave to Grandeur by Joe Creason explaining how Captain Jack McClain was buried on top of the Big Hill in September 1866. He also gives the history of The Alpine Motel built by Less McComas after the creation of Dale Hollow Lake in 1942 and the dam across the Cumberland River in Russell County was built creating a second reservoir near Burkesville. Now the grave is in the parking lot of The Alpine Motel.
