A. W. Randolph blanket. Single panel wool blanket whose exterior edges are embroidered in blanket and briar stitches in red woolen yarns.

A. W. Randolph,1839-1895, of Louisville, Kentucky, who mustered in at Bowling Green, Company B, 6th Kentucky Infantry, of the 1st Kentucky Brigade, reportedly carried this blanket with him during the Civil War. The First Kentucky became known as “the Orphan Brigade” because of the high casualty rates it suffered during the war.
