Description

Photograph of people out in the street celebrating Cuban independence from Spain in 1899. This street scene is in an urban setting with people lining the street and American and Cuban flags flying. Most of the men are dressed in suits, and a float with several ladies dressed in gowns sitting on it is parading down the street. This is one of a number of photographs collected by Frank M. Thomas when he served as Chaplain for the Third Kentucky Infantry U.S.V. in Cuba.
