WKU hires the first African American faculty members:

John Jones - summer faculty position in Education May 25, 1965; hired fulltime as admissions' counselor and Sociology instructor, June 15, 1967. He was the first African American to receive tenure at WKU.

James Beck - Associate Director of the Human Relations Center for Education, August 1, 1966, resigned August 31, 1968

Mable Anderson - Full Professor in Elementary Education, September 1, 1966

Jacqueline Beck - Assistant Professor in Nursing, September 1, 1966, resigned August 31, 1968

Frank Moxley - summer Counselor Education student practicum supervisor, June 1, 1967
