Henry Hardin Cherry was first president of WKU in 1906 to 1937. Mr. Cherry was born November 16, 1864 and died August 1, 1937. He became WKU's favorite and avid believer of WKu pride. A statue is dedicated to Mr. Cherry right in front of Cherry Hall that is, you guessed it, named after him.
